It's a Alleluia Easter!

What do you get when you cross a lily with an egg plant?

It took longer to hide the eggs than to find them.

Sign of our times?

Holy Week and Easter
On Good Friday, two people stood on the front porch of the church with the sun directly behind them. Their shadows were cast upon the wall of the church. Can you guess who the names of these two people?
Lizz, Helena, Sandie, and Gail work with Lizz to put together some of the Easter Vigil sweet smelling plants.
Ginger, Janet, Gail, and Velda fashion the palm crosses used on Passion Sunday.
The Passion Gospel was offered by the members of the Ten O'Clock congregation.
This painting of the crucifixion hangs in the newly designated St. John's cathedral on Adams in Los Angeles. Other paintings by the same artist hang all around the church.
On Tuesday in Holy Week, all of the clergy of the diocese were invited to renew their vows and to receive a special blessing by our bishops. St. John's Cathedral was full. Bishop Bruno hosted lunch for us.

NEW PAINT FOR OUR MATURE CHURCH
Our church was built in 1893. Sometime in the 1970s, the whole building was painted. During the intervening years, Stan Stephenson worked hard to keep our worship space clean and freshly painted. Of course, Stan could not get up to the top stories of the church, but he sure kept the building looking good until he left the parish to move closer to his family.
Your vestry determined it was time for our mature church to get some new paint. Here you can see some of the high ladder work involved in this job. At some point, even the cross will be given a fresh coat.
Thank you vestry and Blake LaMar for restoring our church to the little white church on Broadway.
